Jim Barham (right) single-handedly supporting the weight of a British Airways VC10 aircraft! But, unlike the allegation above, Jim's stories in "CHICKEN OR BEEF?" are all true. |
![]() |
Jim Barham joined BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corporation) as an airline steward, at the tender age of 26, in 1972 - before the days of mass transit and package holidays, and while many of the pilots were still ex-RAF personnel from the Second World War. Over the years he criss-crossed the globe, amassing many millions of air miles and visiting countless different countries.
His experiences were often funny, occasionally alarming, sometimes moving, but always of interest. He eventually left British Airways (BOAC's successor) in 1998, and since then his friends have always enjoyed hearing his airline stories and have finally persuaded him to write a book. This he has finally done - and you can now read them.
